What if the night sky were just another ocean?
I imagined MoonBound around a whale that swims between the clouds and the stars just as it would in the middle of the waves.
I see it as an ancient and tranquil force that has been traveling the universe since long before us. An immense and unchanging presence, crossing time without ever losing its calm.
The imagination of Terry Pratchett and Discworld accompanied me in this desire to create a sky governed by its own rules, where creatures become almost worlds unto themselves.
It is the kind of image that I can easily picture above a cradle: a benevolent presence that watches over in silence and invites travel, dreams, and imagination.
