What if a simple flame were watching over something greater than itself?
I imagined Flame Keeper while thinking about Japanese folklore and the fascinating idea that the things around us can have a presence, a spirit, and sometimes even become a yōkai or a guardian.
From that, this little flame keeper was born. I don't know exactly what it is protecting: a memory, a hope, or simply the light we try to keep burning when everything turns dark.
That is what I love about this illustration. Behind a flame that seems fragile, you can imagine a whole world.
