I imagined Whisper of the Forest by drawing on pagan and Norse folklore, where nature is never truly silent. Trees, plants, and fungi can harbor ancient presences, invisible at first glance.
The creature traversing this illustration was born from this idea. I imagine it as a forest spirit, as strange as it is familiar, appearing for a moment before vanishing again among the branches.
I do not know if it watches over this place or if it is simply one of its inhabitants. I like to think that the forest still keeps its secrets and only reveals them to those who take the time to look.
